Optional accounts and saved products

You can browse and save products without creating an account. If you choose to sign in, VYRDICT receives the email address used for authentication and an account identifier. Your cloud shortlist stores the identifiers of products you save so those saves can follow you across devices.

Your account email and saved-product list are private account data. VYRDICT does not create a public profile from them.

Passwordless sign-in and email delivery

VYRDICT uses Supabase for authentication and cloud account infrastructure. Passwordless sign-in emails are delivered through Resend using VYRDICT’s authenticated email domain. Your email address is used to provide requested account access and essential account-related messages; signing in is not treated as consent to receive marketing email.

Browser storage and preferences

VYRDICT may store small values in your browser, including saved-product identifiers, the account associated with a local save cache, authentication session information, a recent-visit marker, randomly generated first-party browser and session identifiers used for hub arrival and section-click analytics, and your selected Canada or United States shopping region. These values support the site experience and are not public.

Product suggestions

When you use Suggest a Product, VYRDICT may receive the product name, brand, a product or post URL, the platform where you are seeing it, and the optional note you submit. The public suggestion form does not ask for your name or email address.

Suggestions are used as private research input. Submitting a suggestion does not create a public profile, review, or comment. Research submissions may be retained while they remain useful for catalog verification, duplicate detection, abuse prevention, or editorial history, and may be removed or de-identified when no longer needed.

Analytics and retention

VYRDICT uses limited first-party analytics to understand aggregate behavior such as page views, product opens, retailer clicks, saves, market changes, categories, search-result counts, and the account sign-in funnel. The analytics system does not store account email addresses, names, or raw search terms. Random anonymous browser identifiers help estimate how many browsers visit the hub and which sections they open; these identifiers rotate after 30 days. Session identifiers expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. These estimates do not identify a person or follow them across websites. You can reset them by clearing VYRDICT site data. The hub tracker respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser signals.

First-party analytics event rows are subject to an automated retention schedule and are deleted after approximately 180 days. Aggregated or de-identified statistics that no longer identify a person or browser may be retained longer for historical product and service analysis.

Technical information and service providers

Hosting, authentication, email-delivery, domain, and infrastructure providers may process standard technical information needed to serve, secure, and diagnose the service, such as request timestamps, browser or network information, authentication events, and diagnostic logs. Depending on the provider and service, information may be processed or stored in Canada or other jurisdictions and may therefore be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

VYRDICT limits provider access to what is reasonably needed for the service being provided and uses technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved.

Security

VYRDICT uses access controls, row-level database protections, authenticated account operations, restricted administrative interfaces, and other technical safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect access to the email account used for passwordless sign-in.

Shopping links

When you follow a retailer or other third-party link, you leave VYRDICT. The destination site may collect information under its own privacy practices, which VYRDICT does not control. If VYRDICT uses compensated or affiliate shopping links, the material connection will be disclosed separately from the editorial score.

Retention and deleting your account

Account information and cloud-synced saves are kept while your VYRDICT account is active and needed to provide account features. A signed-in user can use Delete account on the VYRDICT Account page to permanently remove the VYRDICT authentication account and its cloud-synced saved-product records.

Deleting an account also clears the VYRDICT save cache on the browser where deletion is requested. Local browser data on another device or browser cannot be remotely erased by VYRDICT and may remain until that browser’s site data is cleared. Limited infrastructure, security, fraud-prevention, or transactional logs may remain for a period required by service-provider retention practices, legitimate security needs, or law.

Your privacy choices and requests

You may ask whether VYRDICT holds personal information about you, request access to that information, challenge its accuracy, ask for a correction, or request deletion where applicable. VYRDICT may need to verify your identity before acting on a request and may retain information where required or permitted by law.

You can also clear local VYRDICT browser data through your browser settings and can delete a signed-in account directly from the Account page.

Sale and use of personal information

VYRDICT does not sell account email addresses, cloud-synced saved-product lists, or product-suggestion submissions to advertisers. Personal information is used for the purposes described here unless another use is disclosed and permitted.
